March 18th we put hooves to the ground and begin our initiative to raise awareness of the importance of preserving our Australian stock routes and the opportunities of Australian stock routes for eco-tourism & slow travel.
Our journey starts in Goondiwindi, and will end on the banks of the Murray River in Tocumwal.
The Azadi Far Ride to the Murray 2024 isn’t just a journey of discovery and meditation through slow travel. It’s about painting a vivid picture of what slow travel on stock routes can look like. It is a means to promote the diversified use of stock routes for eco-tourism. These routes are an important part of Australia’s heritage, but they are under threat from development and neglect.
By setting an example through our actions, we hope to inspire others to get involved, follow our footsteps and work towards preserving these routes for the future.
Slow travelers (runners, walkers, cyclists, riders) – join us on an adventure for a couple hours or a couple days!
If we don’t use it, we’ll lose it!
